SIRA Award


The Italian Society of Animal Reproduction (SIRA) will assign 4 prizes, worth €. 500,00 each, to new graduates in the 2010-2011* academic year who presented the final Degree Thesis on an animal reproduction topic* in Memory of Prof. Paolo Minoia, professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Bari (Italy) and first President of the SIRA.
The 4 awards will be assigned as follows: 1 graduating from Bari University; 1 graduating from any other Italian University; 2 graduating from Agricultural University of Tirana (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture and Environment – D pt. of animal husbandry
). Any student on the Master degree of Veterinary Medicine, Science and Technology of Animal Production, Biotechnology Science, presenting an experimental thesis in the field of Animal Reproduction, can participate.
Candidates must
send a hard copy of their thesis together with a copy of their degree certificate and a self-declaration that the work has not been awarded a prize in any other competition . Applications must be include the following information: a) Surname and Name; b) Date and place of birth; c) Nationality; d) Address; e) University; f) Taxpayer code number; g) Telephone number, e-mail.  Out of the envelope will be clearly reported: <"Best 2011-2012 Thesis In Animal Reproduction Topic" - Memory of Paolo Minoia>.
The deadline for submission is May 5, 2012 (proven by postmark).
The envelope will be addressed:
Italian candidates: Prof. GM LACALANDRA, Dipartimento di Produzione Animale, Str.Prov. per Casamassima, km 3, 70010, Valenzano (BA), Italia.
Albanian candidates:  Prof.Dr. Bizena BIJO - Universiteti Bujqësor i Tiranës. Rektorati Kodër - Kamëz Tirana-Albania.
*Albanian Applicants may submit  thesis of degree discussed also in previous academic years and on topics on animal husbandry.
A Commission designated by the Executive Council of the SIRA will select the 2 best Thesis among Italian Candidates, while a Commission designated by the Rector of the Agricultural University of Tirana will select the 2 best Thesis among Albanian Candidates. The commission’s decision is final.
Notification of the grant will be sent by e-mail to the beneficiary and the award will be presented during the 10th SIRA Congress at Palace of Culture of Tirana, Albania
on 23-25 May, 2012. Beneficiaries are kindly requested to be present in person at the award ceremony.
