The Italian Society of Animal Reproduction (SIRA) assign 2 prizes of  €. 1,000,00 each, to graduates in the 2011-2012 academic year who presented the final Degree Thesis on an animal reproduction topic. The award is in Memory of Prof. Paolo Minoia, professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Bari (Italy), which was the first President of the SIRA.

Any italian graduate on Veterinary Medicine, Science and Technology of Animal Production, Biotechnology Science, which presented a experimental thesis in the field of Animal Reproduction, whose Teacher-tutor belongs to Settore Scientifico Disciplinare VET/10 (Clinica Ostetrica e Ginecologica Veterinaria), can participate.
Candidates must send a hard copy of their thesis together with a copy of their degree certificate and a self-declaration that the work has not been awarded a prize in any other competition. Applications must be include the following information: a) Surname and Name; b) Date and place of birth; c) Nationality; d) Address; e) University; f) Fiscal code; g) Telephone number, email. Out of the envelope will be clearly reported: <"Best 2011-2012 Thesis In Animal Reproduction Topic" – SIRA, Paolo Minoia> The envelope will be addressed: Prof. GM LACALANDRA, DETO Sez. Clinche Veterinarie e Produzioni Animali, Str.Prov. per Casamassima, km 3, 70010, Valenzano (BA), Italia. The deadline for submission is May 18, 2013 (proven by postmark).

A Commission designated by the Executive Council of the SIRA will select the 2 best Thesis among Candidates. The 2 awards will be assigned as follows: 1 to a graduate at Bari University; 1 graduated from any other Italian University. The commission’s decision is final.
Notification of the grant will be sent by e-mail to the beneficiary and the award will be presented during the 11 th SIRA Congress at Ustica (PA), Municipal Conference Hall, 20-21 June, 2013.

Beneficiaries are requested to be present in person at the award ceremony.
